How do I get rid of roaches in my apartment? ?

They're in the kitchen inside & outside cabinets, some in dining room & some in the living room, I find a lot of roach eggs in the cabinets. I tried spraying but is not working. I tried traps but is not working either. I'm very concerned as I have a 9 year old daughter & a 9 mth old daughter at home. I'm sick of them!!!!
