Should the Packers have made the playoffs instead of the Giants?

The Packers are on a 4 game winning streak and the Giants basically backed into the playoffs and barely defeated a 5-10 Redskins team. Anybody else think these numerical tiebreakers aside from head to head are useless? They should play another game to determine who gets in like baseball.
